The book "Norske Dekorasjoner" ("Norwegian Decorations") by Harald Hallberg was published in 2012. The book is in Norwegian and covers all Norwegian decorations awarded on a ribbon.
The author has now finished an English version of the book - "Norwegian Decorations 1819-2019" - and added 9 more medals, instituted since the release of the Norwegian version of the book. In this version,
medals related to NATO, UN, "Nasjonal Samling" and sports medals (which are no longer allowed to be worn on a uniform) have been skipped.
The author has done extensive research and for some medals, complete lists (Norwegian War Cross) or partial lists of recipients are shown as well. Numbers have also been added regarding the awarding of the
Order of St. Olav during the reign of various monarchs.
The book is an excellent reference for collectors with an interest in Norwegian or Scandinavian decorations.
The English version of the book is 276 pages with numerous photos.
The price is 500 NOK (€50) plus shipping (150 NOK (€15) in Europe).
