OMSD was represented with 11 delegates.
The first day offered a visit to the Royal Library, where orders and medals - normally kept in storage - were shown. Particularly interesting were Queen Elisabeth's (1876-1965) decorations. The Queen was originally a nurse, working at her father's clinic.
The next day contained a list of interesting and educational presentations, followed by a guidet tour by foot through the old part of Brussels. The dinner to follow had an exhibition of numerous orders, belonging to a general who served several years at the royal
court. The Belgian national orders - manufactured by De Greef - were also on display.
The last day was split between a small bazaar and a visit to the Royal Army Museum with its impressive collection of orders and medals. Due to the phaleristic conference, a special exhibition had been set up for the visiting participants.
All in all a very successful conference.
